Abstract
The authors spent 52 weeks, one year, chronologically watching nearly all of director Alfred Hitchhock’s films (avoiding those works not legally available in the United States), recording their impressions and following the emergence and development of Hitchcock’s signature themes and styles. They now invite the reader to follow the same journey with them, watching from 1927’s The Lodger to 1976’s Family Plot and gaining a deeper understanding and appreciation of the "master of suspense" than if one stuck to the more commonly viewed films. Notes on DVD availability are included for each film and each chapter also includes notes on the film’s production, trivia and points of interest, common themes, and Hitchcock’s cameo experiences.
